Back in the day there were dance charts...the same dance charts that exist today. Are there any websites on the internet that have these dance charts from the 80s?

Yeah, you can find 100 lists all the way back to the 70's on Billboards website i believe. Not saying that the lists were wrong but i always thought other songs should have been on the list rather than the ones chosen. Did they pick them by album sales back then? With all the peer to peer and Hub action spoiling sales how can they use sales to pick number ones? I'm confusededed[:o)]

I think they base the dance charts on DJ play. I remember in the late 70's there was a disco play chart and a disco sales chart in Billboard.

Unfortunatly I think you do need to subscribe to the website to view the charts.
This would probably be a much cheaper way:

You can probably find it on ebay for a lot less. Looks like a cool book!
www.discomusic.com might have some additional info - but avoid the top 20 New Wave songs page...[}:)]
