Current teen "idols" covering 80s hits

This is seriously starting to irritate me.

First, Mandy Moore did a cover of Blondie's "One Way or Another," where she started the song off by announcing "This is new wave!" Lame.

Then Jessica Simpson butchered Berlin's "Take My Breath Away." That I could almost handle, since I never really liked the song.

Now this week, I hear on one of those daily entertainment shows that Hilary Duff and her equally annoying sister Haylie Duff, are covering the Go-Go's "Out Lips Are Sealed." This abomination has pushed me too far! Nobody (except maybe Fun Boy Three) messes with my Go-Go's!

Am I nuts here? [:(!]

I agree that Mandy Moore is lame but to her credit she did do a cover of Joan Armatrading's "Drop the Pilot" on one of her albums which--according to the review in Billboard--was her choice not some record executive's. That shows at least a bit of good t

Plus, Mandy Moore is the only one of the bunch who can act. I have high hopes for her in "Saved!"

At least the writers of the songs get paid and maybe some people might seek out the original music. It's really not a bad thing - especially if you don't have to listen to it.
