Name That Tune Volume 8

Postby fritzb » Sun May 23, 2004 7:12 am

Back by popular demand, another round of Name That Tune. After everybody tore up my last couple rounds, I think I've made this one a bit harder with fewer songs that everyone is likely to get. Frankly it's not very interesting if almost everyone get the songs. Don't worry there are still some of those "easy ones" in there, just not as many this time. I tried to find more less well known songs that some would get and some not. I guess we'll see how I did. As always, there are a few truly obscure cuts to challenge the resident experts. [;)]

Like my previous editions, there are 50 songs clips - for a total of 100 points (1 point for artist, 1 point for title). There are 2 seconds of silence between song clips. Download your response form below and email it to me for tabulation when you're finished (my email address is on the form). Make sure to put your forum screen names on your answers, so I know who you are. I will send the Answer Sheet to everyone who sends me their responses (if you don't hear from me within 24 hours, I probably didn't get your email). Don't post your responses here!

Here's the link for the response form (my email address is on it):

Here's the song sampler link:

Good Luck! [:)]

fritzb, you're the man! I was going through NTT withdrawal without a contest going on. Thank you in advance for this fun diversion, and as usual, when does this contest end?

Thanks for the info, fritzb. On the first run-through, I thought this one might be as easy as your last one, but then I ran into a few dry patches. So far, I got my score at 57, now I have to play the mp3 a few more times to see if it jars any long-hidd

Well I've got some work to do. I only got 29 on the first pass, I usually get a few more than that.
Some excellent choices in there. I don't think I've heard #30 in 18 years.
#36 is killing me, sounds like something I know and love, just can't place it

You da man Fritz, you keep 'em coming and we all love it! Anyways, I sent my response off and think I scored a 68 and I know I missed at least two that I really should've known but just couldn't grasp. Thanks for another excellent NTT!

I think I scored 54 points.
#12, 14, and 46 I should know, and will kick myself when I read the answers.

Not yet. I was going to have my wife listen to it and see how she does, then send it in -- I think she will know a few that I'm having trouble with.

Oy! Dan! That's not cool, I don't have a wife to help me! [V] This is a competion and you have a 2 to 1 advantage with the help of your significant other. Ach... Do what you want. It's no skin off my nose. [}:)]

I'm going to email you my answers tomorrow. I've been hesitant to send them yet because I've been hoping that some of them that I'm quite sure I know but cannot seem to get will finally click...

Our computer got infected with a Trojan Horse, so we're barely recovering, and I don't want to send anything (email) until I know it's out of our computer, for sure. I am itching to play, though, so hopefully I can still enter before the 4th----which is

Well, it seems most of you are holding out for some inspiration... [:p]

With only a few responses in so far, we have a respectable average score of 60 points. As usual, MikeP is currently the man to beat. [;)]

Only 3 complete stumpers are left (#3
