Bonjour Jeans Commercial

I know one other guy who remembers this.

Back in about 81 or 82 Bonjour Jeans (of all things) had a commercial that featuered music that sounded like, but wasn't, the Normal.

The music was keyboard with vocals that kept repeating- Bonjour! Bonjour! Bonjour!

It featured a man and a woman both Klaus Nomi/New Wave looking. He pulled up in a Ferrari and she was watching him from a balcony. He got out of the car and then they both moved about into a series of bizarre poses and gestures.

This commercial has stuck with me for all these years. Any chance anyone else remembers this? Any even smaller chance someone recorded it? It's probably not as goofy or cool as I remember but I'd still love to see it.

I don't remember that one, but I do recall a designer jeans commercial with Debbie Harry, saying 'when you know where you're going, you know what to wear'.....

Yeah I remember that one.

I tried to capture the Bonjour one on tape but wasn't sucessful. It probably annoyed more people than it pleased.

My tastes were always slightly off so I loved it. My friend and I used to crack each other up by imitating the moves while riding our motorcycles (you had to be there-trust me it was funny).

I remember the Bonjour commercial. It sampled a telephone busy signal and used that as the basis for the soundtrack. The voice kept repeating, "Bonjour...Action...Jeans." I always thought that was cool.

Slightly OT but not really...

The two Museums of Television and Radio in NYC and LA have a huge archive of old TV commercials (in addition to shows of course). These places are definately worth a visit to check out some of this material. I don't know that this would be there, but I did manage to find those iconic Ridley Scott commericals:

Channel #5 withthat unforgettable track sung almost in falsetto: "I don't want to set the world on fire..."
Bullova Watches with a clip from Vangelis' "Chung Kuo"
Apple's 1984 Superbowl of course! [:p]

Good idea...the museum is nearby. I remember those commercials you speak of...nice collection.

I remember the Sassoon Jeans commercials, especially the one with the hockey players singing "Oo La La Sassoon"[:o)]

I remember Canadian TV used "People are People" for a jeans ad back when it was still a hit in '86. I forgot which jeans company but it featured 4 or 5 voluptuous Canadian women crossing and moving their legs to the beat while sitting on a stone wall (or something).
