Are there any? The New Wave movement rose in the decade of AIDS awareness. There's got to be at least a few songs that mention it.

Best one in my mind has always been "For a Friend" by the Communards. Perhaps the most moving lyrics about devotion to a friend, gay or straight.
"I'll never let you down, a battle I have found."

Not exactly new wave, but close enough - "Tomorrow, Wendy" by Concrete Blonde.

Folks,
Couldn't bring myself to play "Bitchin' Camaro" by the Dead Milkmen after its really juvenile ref to AIDS...

The Blow Monkeys' "Digging Your Scene" doesn't actually mention AIDS, but it certainly concerns it.

Not exactly new wave but The Mighty Mighty Bosstones had a song "THE IMPRESSION THAT I GET"
I'm not a coward,
I've just never been tested
I'd like to think that if I was,
I would pass

That song wasn't about AIDS, was it? I thought it was just about his courage being tested. That's the impression I got anyway.

how about prince? "dirty mind" is totally new wave. with a little funk.
anyway, from "sign of the times":
"in france a skinny man died of a big disease with a little name,
by chance his girlfriend came across a needle and soon she did the same"

On the complete topic, "Stone Thames" by Big Audio Dynamite is all about it.
"Heard the news about the scare
In the underwear
Populations getting thin
Forget the bomb its carnal sin yeh!
Marriage up divorce is down
No one wants to fuck around
Save the rose reject romance
Micky Mouse don`t drop his pants"
