Bette Bright:
Posted: Wed May 26, 2004 12:25 pmI was just thinking to myself,like I always do wouldn't it be really cool if some record label over in the UK would release that one album by Bette Bright onto CD,since it is way overdue anyway.How many of you remember her and have heard that one album that she did back in 1981? It was called "Rhythm Breaks The Ice" She had a really cool Bubblegum sound that reminded me alot of how Kim Wilde sounded like back at that time.Alot of her songs sound that way too.Some of my favorites from that album are.
When You Were Mine(Written and recorded by Prince and also later redone by Cyndi Lauper as well) But this version is still my favorite overall.This was way before the Lauper version also.

Hello I Am Your Heart(Very Kim Wilde sounding,with reggae beat to it)This was her hit from the album as well.Was also later covered by Manfred Mann's Earth Band also the same year,but was not nearly as good,and was also a very slowed down version.
All Girls Lie(Stays true to the Kim Wilde sound again on this song too)
Thunder And Lightning(Was redone by Bright on this album,and was done years before by the band she was in and sang lead vocals on "Deaf School" Both versions are just as good in my opinion.
Some Girls Have All The Luck(Later redone by Rod Stewart,but 3 years later,and not as good as this version.But Rod sang Some Boys instead of the Some Girls.Again the way she sings it sounds like Kim Wilde all over again.She must have been a big fan of Kim's to amke her voice sound that close.
By the way for those of you that never knew this about Bette Bright,she was at one time married to the lead singer of "Madness" (Aka Graham McPherson) Can anyone tell me if they are still married to this day or not? I am just curious that's all.Thanks.What are some of your favorite songs off of her solo album? Please post if you have any.
