Sorry if this topic has already been discussed... was wondering what new wave songs have a great sax solo?

One of my favorites is "All Mixed Up" by the Cars, it has an awesome sax solo at the end.

Are there any next wave bands that have a sax player?

Again, love this board. So many knowledgeable (and funny) people.

I like the sax in "Say You're Sorry" by Ministry, from Al Jourgensen's favourite album,With Sympathy. Hmm, I know there's a million more...

Psych Furs - No Easy Street, Heartbeat, I'm sure a few others by them
Men At Work - Overkill, not so much a solo as it is a lick, but a fine one
The Ocean Blue - Drifting, Falling..not really new wave, but worth mentioning
The Waitresses - Pick a song! Great, underrated band, and the sax in "I Know What Boys Like" is excellent.
Bryan Ferry - Windswept, Boys and Girls, Is Your Love Strong Enough (Long Version)
Roxy Music - Tara
Pink Industry - Bound By Silence, dark, sad, gothic saxophone throughout..another underrated band

Biggest one that sticks out for me is Lords of the New Church, Living on Living - huge sax, huge drums, huge bass, very cool.

And perhaps not completely new wave but The Stray Cats, Lonely Summer Nights has a sweet sax intro.

Inner City Unit-Convoy
Deaf School-Cocktails at eight(retro saxophone intro to this melodramatic elegy)

Romeo Void!!! Benjamin Bossi's squawking saxophone is splattered all over every song. Hits include Never Say Never, A Girl in Trouble (Is a Temporary Thing), and Just Too Easy.

Not New Wave but No Wave is James Chance (aka James White). Biggest "hit"--Contort Yourself. More squawking saxophone brilliance!

Martha and the Muffins had a sax player, right? At least that's what I hear on Echo Beach.

Leisure Process used a sax in some of their stuff; I especially like the sax work in "The Sun Turns Black"

No mention yet of the English Beat? Lots of great sax in several of their songs.

Madness - One Step Beyond!!!!!

Quarterflash, Find Another Fool. Rindy Ross and Jack Charles interplay the sax and guitar incredibly well.

I can still remember them scorching this song on "Fridays." [8D]

Wesley MacGoogan, who played with Hazel O'Connor on the Breaking Glass soundtrack. I love his playing, even with The Anti Nowhere League!

Have to agree with some that listed X-Ray Spex! Great punk music with great saxophone on their only one album "Germ Free Adolescents". The saxophone is featured very prominently throughout the album too!
