I was going through some old boxes and came across some old clothes...I don't know...should I toss these?

A Cheap Trick Dream Police concert baseball shirt.

A Sid Vicious is Dead T Shirt.

An US Festival KROQ Security shirt (my friend worked there and got it for me).

Also Racheal Donahue and Logic Likes Me KROQ bumper stickers.

Completely worthless. Mail them all to me for historical preservation. Include any Freddy Snakeskin, Sam Freeze, Jedum Fishum, Frazier Smith, Shadow Stevens, April Whitney and Rodney momentos as well. You may even include any rainbow KLOS and In and Out Burger stickers as well. I'll take the latter and lop off the B and R and embarrass my wife with "In and Out Urge" stuck to my bumper.

Wow, it's been a while since I've seen an "Urge" sticker on a car. LOL. I also have a Frank Zappa draft card that I got from the April Whitney show.

The friend who got me the KROQ security shirt would occasionaly work various events. One of the ones I remember was the Motown Music Awards. If you remember that was the one were Michael Jackson did his big Moonwalk thing.
My friend escourted Michael into the building from his limo. And although there were many, the only other name I remember him mentioning was Adam Ant.
My friend is pretty big- 6'5" 400lbs. He used to put on shades, his jacket and escourt me through the mall while playing up the whole guard thing. People would actually look trying to figure who I was.

We got a laugh. We were easily amused.

I know I have more stuff- an entire storage room filled with it. I am a bit of a pack rat.

The sad thing is in order to make room I had to toss a ton of shirts and posters...I knew I'd one day regret it.

Somewhere I have the very first picture printed in an English newspaper of the new scurge- "punk rockers". It's pretty hysterical because the one guy is posing with his finger shoved up his friends nose- not very threatening.

To take a bit of a tangent... I remember watching that live like it was yesterday. If you didn't see it as it was happening, I don't think there's any way you can explain the electricity that event generated. NONE of use were Jackson fans and ALL of us were blown away. I was in my college apartment watching with a couple dudes from the baseball team, a couple stoners, a couple punk-types and a couple of random girls. Folks, these were cynical and snide people...and they were blown away.

Anwyway, if you find more stuff, I hope there's some way to document or digitize it!

I completely agree with you! I was never a big MJ fan but that show made everyone stop. I don't think he had a whole lot to prove at the time but he did anyway. It was a spectacular performance...stellar. You knew when it was over his career was never going to be the same. And it never was.

As for the stuff I find...I'll take some pics and post them. I'm sure there are some who will enjoy...or get a laugh. I left my camera at work but as soon as I get it back I'll take some.

I don't know...I think I'd regret getting rid of these things unless they were worth some obscene amount. I've already thrown away so much only because I didn't have the room.

I used to keep all the full-page adverts for bands from the LA Times Calender section. I threw them away...and would love to have them back if only just for the names of some of the clubs that I have forgotten.

I know I have more concert shirts...Cars, Blondie. I could kick myself because I rarely bought the shirts. I saw Queen at the Forum...no shirt. Saw Fear...no shirt. Talking Heads...no shirt. Ah jeez, I could go on but I won't bore you.

I also have a KROQ London Invasion shirt. That's from 1984.

I have a Red Hot Chilli Peppers Mother's Milk poster which I'm told is rare because the girl has no flower over her breast. It looks like a test printing because it's printed on the back of a racing car poster.
Yeah they're not new wave and I'm not their biggest fan but it's a cool poster.

I know I probably have a few music magazines from the 80's. It'll be fun to pull them out and flip through the pages.
