This is an admittedly odd and random list, culled from the pre-poll thread and my two cents thrown in. But it's probably the best we can do in this format. So which of these post 1990 tracks by the old guard new wave artists are your favorites?

And of course, please feel free to comment on how could this be possibly missing blah blah blah... [:D]

I know you picked Regret, Blir! Well I'm going with Walking In My Shoes - SORRY! [;)]

The track exhibits an emotional complexity that goes far beyond the mere judgement scene that it paints in the mind's eye. It is dark, it is moody, it is HEAVY. The raw first person narrative reveals a morality that has led this character to lay in bed with the Dark Side itself in this colorful confession. Enticingingly and seductively yet nonchalantly, we are invited to flirt with the Dark Side of ourselves in order to understand if only for an inkling that underneath all the bullshit, we are all exactly the same and would do the same. But it is the humanistic struggle that is delicious. Fucking Martin Gore man. Always twisting pleasure and pain together and serving it on plate of moral ambiguity. One of the best my friends, one of the best - ever.

Hardly any of my listed songs [:(] but I went with AFOS

I kind a lean towards Adam Ants--Wonderful

I went with Blondie - I love them, loved that song.

OK, I went with Boy George, being a long time fan I had to.
This was a difficult choice, I love nearly every track!
PSBs Being Boring is, to me one of their best songs ever.[:D]
And Blondie's Maria is glorious.[:D]
Love DM too.

I picked Letter To Elise over Regret after much agonizing. Oh Ok, after considering it for 5 seconds.[:D]

This was a tough choice [;)] and made me realize that the artists who made this poll were definitely not "flash in the pans." They're incredibly talented folks who continue to create great material.

I voted for DM's "Walking in My Shoes," since that happens to be one of my favorite DM tunes. (I agree 100% with Marv's post -- how scary is that?) But it was really hard to decide with "Kiss the For Me," "Friday I"m in Love," and "Regret" included in the poll.

Actually, I think it was about a trip to the corner for some cigs and a newspaper. [:o)]

I had a hard time choosing, as there are some real solid faves on there. In the end I go with Boy George, because that song is so beautiful and his vocals really affect me in that tune. I always thought that song and his vocals on it were simply STUNNING.

"Being Boring" by the Pet Shop Boys. It talks of reminiscing about more carefree days (which I do all the time). I think Neil Tennant is underrated as a vocalist, too.
