I betcha there are more than a few of us here who at one time or another idolized a favorite musician and tried to dress like him or her.
When I was 12 I thought Simon LeBon's white jacket in "The Reflex" video looked really cool and convinced my Mom to buy me one just like it. I was happy as could be but soon realised that Simon LeBon was Simon LeBon whereas I was a dorky 12 year old who could never hope to possibly look presentable in a jacket like that.

I idolized the Go-Gos and dressed like them when I was 9-12. Then, at 13, I discovered Exene Cervenka from X and her awesome style of thrift-n-vintage chic.
