The Tubes are difficult to characterize style-wise. It varied from album to album, even song to song. They did it all - punk, new wave, pop, funk, rock, glam....

The Completion Backward Principle was certainly new wave, with "Talk to Ya Later" and "Don't Want to Wait Any More". "She's a Beauty" is new wave as well, but not nearly as catchy or interesting.

I Love remote control (Produced by Todd Rundgren) How bout the TRASH album (Tubes Rarities And Smash Hits) they did a cover of Muskrat Love.Love white punks on dope too.

I love Remote Control. I've played my vinyl copy of it to death! "TV is King" is one of my favorite tunes ever. I saw the Tubes at the Savoy in Manhattan somtime around 1981 and it was awesome. In my opinion they are New Wave.
