I'd like to make a disc of Boston bands from the late 70's thru the late 80's. My small list includes: The Neighborhoods , O Positive ,Balloon, Mission of Burma and Private Lightning. Any other ideas [?]

Modern Lovers -Pablo Picasso is an assh*le.

Not sure if this counts, though.Recorded in 1973 but the record wasn't released until 1976

An argument can be made that Jonathan Richman started punk. Not saying i agree, but he certainly was amongst the first. Ask Oedipus (the dj).

And if we're on comps, the DIY series' Mass Ave edition has a great Boston collection. As an aside, I'd mention DIY We're Desperate for the LA crowd and DIY Blank Generation for New Yawkahs.
