Jules And The Polar Bears
I used to have that one album that they did a long time ago,in the late 70's on Columbia Records, and for some reason I could not get into their music at all.The reason being I think was because I found that their songs had no consistancy whatsoever. And the songs sounded more like rock n roll to me,than they did New Wave, and I just didn't like them.
But on the other hand I did like a few of Jules Shear's solo work.Funny how an artist can go one way with a band or solo, and vice versa, and you wind up liking them better the other way. This was definately the case with Jules Shear.Speaking of which has anyone ever heard his solo version of The Bangles song "If She Knew What She Wants? which by the way was a Jules Shear song and written by him as well, way before he let The Bangles cover the song.
What do all of you think of Jules solo work as a recording artist, and how do you compare it to his work with The Polar Bears, and which did you like better?
