I thought that their first album was very underated as much as both of The Inmates albums.Can't recall Sniff's second album as much as their first one.And who didn't like their hit "Driver's Seat? That is one New Wave hit you never hear on any 80's retro flashback shows today at all,and it was so good.Their lead singer Paul Roberts,eventually left the band and then took over as the new lead vocalist for The Stranglers,after Hugh Cornwell left the band,back in the early 90's.
Do any of you remember Sniff 'N' The Tears? If so do you recall any of their music or any of their albums?

Sniff N The Tears are definitely overlooked. They have four albums:

One of those "are they new wave or not?" artists. Tough call for me, but "Driver's Seat" is a minor classic.

I only rememember "Drivers Seat" as well.Never heard their albums,but that song from 1979 is very good.Especially, the long version.

Really liked them also. The Inmates, well, they just kept cranking out albums, including one with lots of Beatles cover versions. I have scooped about 6 of their CD's now. Man, can they rock out with bluesy guts when they want to. They sorta took some of

OK, I have to ask, what makes "Driver's Seat" a New Wave song?
I know a lot of people consider it New Wave and it was played on KROQ twenty odd plus years ago, but WHY?

Well,if Driver's Seat and Sniff 'N' The Tears weren't considered a real New Wave abnd,then why did Rhino put Driver's Seat on one of their New Wave Hits compilation cd's? Rhino surely thinks of them as a New Wave band.Also the fact that Paul Roberts joine

I take that back.They aren't listed in the last Trouser Press guide book,but they are in some of the early Trouser Press Guide books that I have.

I never really considered Sniff 'n' the Tears new wave. Granted, I'm only familiar with "Driver's Seat", which is a good song, but it never seemed new wavey to me. The same thing with such bands as Flash and the Pan and the Tremblers. Perhaps because t
