New Wave Outpost Forum

Is anyone familiar with this new wave band? They merged a country/ western pop styling to their music. They released two albums:
"Scenic Views" in 1984 and "Heartbreak Highway" in 1986. I remember hearing the song "Anywhere with You" (from "Scenic Views") on college radio and I consider it to be a new wave classic. In fact, my 18 year old nephew got hooked on this band after I played that song for him! I have a cdr of both albums now.

Anyone know what became of them?

I've liked the few songs I've heard by them. "The Hardest Thing" from "Scenic Views" is my fav.

Rubber Rodeo arose from the group Asphalt Cowboys after they split in early 80s, around 1981. Half the group formed Rubber Rodeo, some went on the form The Peregrins. After RR split, Bob Holmes, their chief male vocalist, writer, producer, wnet on to work

I'm (unfortunately) only familiar with "Anywhere With You"...but it's a damn good song! Grunch, do you know what label released the album that they reunited for in the early 1990's?

I love Rubber Rodeo. They were a local New England band, so I heard a lot of their earlier works on college radio stations. Really great stuff.
