Volcano Suns/Big Dipper info

I am contemplating adding these bands better lp,s to my collection.Does anyone have any input on what they think or remember from these mid 80,s U.S bands.Sometimes I don,t know what the fuck A.M.G is trying to say.

Big Dipper - I'd go with the cd version of "Heavens" w/ includes the "Boo-Boo" ep. This is their first album and is far superior to their later stuff.

Volcano Suns - I'd go with the debut "Bright Orange Years" or the 2nd album "All Night Lotus Party". After that, the guitar player left and his replacement wasn't quite as good. Then again, "Farced" the fourth album is pretty decent if you like extremely weird stuff.

Random recommendation baseed on your interest in Volcano Suns - pick up some Squirrel Bait if you've never heard them.

I'm with Motors on this one - go with Big Dipper's Heavens / Boo-Boo CD and the first two albums by Volcano Suns. Turn Volcano Suns up loud.

I'd also highly recommend you pick up the Heyday collection by The Embarrassment, which is Bill Goffrier's (Big Dipper) previous and later band. Patio Set, Sex Drive, and Celebrity Art Party are worth the price alone. You can check out their entry on the Trouser Press site for more info, but you can trust me.
