Why not? There are KISS conventions, Gary Numan conventions, etc...
Why not a New Wave Music Convention? I'm sure there is money in it somewhere (which is the only reason why things happen [;)] ).

The problem with those is that they're held way out in the sticks. For example, there's Cinema Wasteland convention and the premise kicks ass, but where is it held? Ohio! Where the hell is that, anyway? Watch. If they have a New Wave convention, it'll be held in some place we've never heard of, like Indiana or something.

Indiana? Isn't a reservation? I would love to go to that place and meet real Indians! Do they speak English .....or French?
