In the same vain of the favorite Tom D.'s SAPPY song thread, let's share the songs that really got our fingers snapping.....but that we could never admit to our friends back in the day that we liked. I mean if it was'nt New Wave we were just being shameless hypocrites right? But ah, the power of a SNAPPY song.
I think Prince had some killer finger snappers:
Little Red Corvette
I Would Die For You
and especially.....I Wanna Be Your Lover
And the Supremes...forget about it. Finger Snap City. And those Diana Ross vox? I'm enraptured
You Can't Hurry Love
Where Did Our Love Go
Baby Love
Lots of others (and not limited to).....
Odyssey, Native New Yorker
Rolling Stones, Get Off of My Cloud
Cathy Dennis, Touch Me (All Night Long)
Dusty Springfield, I Only Wanna be With You
Petula Clark, Downtown
Tom Jones, It's Not Unusual
Dean Martin, Volare
Mungo Jerry, In the Summertime

Sparks - I Married a Martian
Queen - Killer Queen
Queen & David Bowie - Under Pressure
Anything by Curly from the three stooges
Oh, songs with snapping in them or snappy songs?! [:I]
I don't really snap to New Wave. I save that for Jazzy stuff. Maybe some of the swingey cheesey New Wave like...
Roman Holiday - Don't Try to Stop It
Level 42 - Something About You
Blow Monkeys - Digging Your Scene
Cee Farrow - Should I Love You
Go-Betweens - Streets of Your Town

I was thinking about this thread & trying to figure out if any New Wave really made me snap along. A lot of it makes me bop around the house - I suppose most of the Go-Go's music does that to me.
What I really find myself uncontrollably snapping along to is Swing Music, especially from the '40's. I like a lot of the revival stuff, but it really sounds like rockabilly with horns to me - it's the originals that get me going. I have a low tolerance for the Andrews Sisters, but man, they could sing, and the songs are so upbeat & goofy - you have to snap along with them. I also find that snapping your fingers goes along with that swinging cocktail music like Dean Martin, etc.
And like Blir - Roman Holiday gets me every time!

Rewind, Scramjet, everybody else: those are indeed some major snapsters you got goin' on but were you embarssed to snap along in front of your New Wave friends? I'm talkin' infectious doodads that somehow just got stuck in your head but that you loved regardless. Come on, Chubby Checker's Let's Twist Again, something!
Wolvie knows what I'm talking about [8D]
