Flashback Cafe

I'm pretty sure I've seen this posted about in the past, but here's a little reminder to anyone in the s/w CT, Long Island or NYC area. Check out Malibu Sue's "Flashback Cafe" show from 10am to 3pm. I'd say a good 75% of its content is solid New Wave. Sure it's mostly the bigger hits from the era, but she peppers it with an obscurity here and there. I was listening today and she gave a brief history of Visage and its members and there subsequent careers. It's not quite the stuff of Sue's WLIR heyday, but where else can you get a decent block of wave on terestrial radio these days? Peak hours seem to be between noon and 2:00.

Too bad Barnstable for whatever reason, has never bumped up the Tx power into western Nassau Co. I barely can get a signal west of the Meadowbrook Pkwy much less get reception worth tuning in to.[V]

FYI: They finally got with the times and have a streaming audio feed now. yay..[|)]

I love Sue but I'd never listen to 94.3 again.
It's become unbearable these days since they added Bryan Adams, Stevie Nicks, Journey & Bon Jovi[V] to the playlist.
They started off strong, back in early 04, when they knew they were getting all of the ex-LIR listeners but the programmer has since firmly shoved his head up his boney ass.

They should've chosen Andre to programme instead - it would've been miles better.

I'm sticking to the LIR stream.

You are right. The all request lunch hour Sue does has turned to a Journey listening fest. I am sure Sue doesn't care for it much either.
However, Sue will play any request you have if the station has the song. I guess the all request lunch time has a lot of people asking for Pat Benatar and Journey. [xx(]

Marie, you should ask Sue if she would play some 'deep cut' trax off the comp cdrs that she must certainly have in her collection.

Now THAT would be interesting!

Wouldn't you love to check those out? Abacab66 says she has quite a few of them! I would be happy if she played the comp I made for her. [:D]

She's got a HUGE collection of music. All the fans burn her copies of everything.
