Whatever happened to this guy? I liked both of the albums he put out too.I don't think that either one has seen any light of day on CD either,which they should be.Loved of course his hit and the 12 inch of "Jet Boy Jet Girl" Liked the way that Plastic Bertrand did it as well.Motello covered some songs that other bands did originally,such as The Who's I Can't Explain,and The Small Faces Sha La La La Lee.They really weren't bad cover versions either.

His Pop Art album,although not the classic that his Victim Of Time album was,was still a very good album.Only on Pop Art he started going more towards the synthpop sound.Whereas on Victim Of Time he was much more guitar oriented,and the album wasn't all that poppy like Pop Art was.I believe that while Victim of Time,got some great reviews,when it came out,his Pop Art album got just mixed reviews.

Elton mottello i'm fan in fact is became rich due to the royalties of plastic bertrant cover of jet boy jet girl

After this two Lp's is realised an great and entire surf music intrumental album in 1981 82 under the name of Dream Wires on a belgian label called Rkm records

Elton Motelle proved by this surf Lp' how it is a great guitarist

Any news to if an official relaese of his tuff is in the works?

Victim Of Time was released on CD in Canada. I had it for several years, after discovering the great song Pop Art during my video collecting. As much as I tried, I could not really enjoy Victim Of Time on any great level, and sold it on eBay a couple of years ago. The Pop Art LP is much more appealing to me, though never released on CD.

There's currently a pricey compilation CD available, which can be found at cduniverse.com. It contains:

Indeed, Damned made a version of Jet Boy Jet Girl, being in the compilation ''Best of the Damned''(Another great album from the Damned).But the first cover was an idea of Captain Sensible and his dutch band Softies,when he was in Holland,after Damned first split in late 70s.

I' ve been a big fan of Elton Motello since 1980.
I' ve also been in touch with him personally through e-mails.
He is a very nice man. His real name is Alan Ward and he's working as a sound engineer in a recording studio in Bruxelles, Belgium.

Alan Ward is the man who wrote the original lyrics to the song "Ca Plane Pour Moi". Those lyrics are in English and the title of the original version of the song is "Jet Boy Jet Girl".
It has also been recorded by Captain Sensible & The Softies, Chron Gen and others.
However, the English lyrics were a bit too controversial, so new French lyrics were written by Yves Lacomblez and Roger Jouret (ex drummer of Hubble Bubble) had a smash hit with the French version, "Ca Plane Pour Moi". His stage name was, and is still Plastic Bertrand.
It's obvious that he has also once (prior to Hubble Bubble) been a member of Elton Motello (which was the name of the lead singer and the band as well).
I' m a big fan of Plastic Bertrand as well, I might add.

Anyway, Plastic Bertrand used Elton Motello's backing tracks for "Jet Boy Jet Girl" to record his French version of the song, "Ca Plane Pour Moi". The same is true about Plastic Bertrand's French versions of the songs "Sha La La La Lee" (originally a Small Faces song), "Get The Guy" ("5,4,3,2,1" and "Pogo Pogo".
Those songs can be found on Elton Motello's 1st album, "Victim Of Time" and Plastic Bertrand's first album "An 1" (the SIRE release of the album is called "Ca Plane Pour Moi").
