Did anyone see the Trevor Horn tribute concert called The Best 25 years of pop? It started with a Buggles reunion and then some of the bands/artists Trevor produced, performing, including The Pet Shop Boys, ABC, Grace Jones, and Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Unfortunately Holly Johnson doesnt get along with Trevor so they had a new singer who sort of looks and sounds like a 12 year old drag queen!

That's where I bought mine too. That dvd is really hard to find so if you see, you should probably pick it up. Here are my comments on the performances:

The Buggles - I wish they would have done two or three more songs. I Am A Camera and Clean Clean would have been great to see and hear. The back-up female singers sound awesome and it's great that both Bruce Woolley and Geoffrey Downes were there too. The ultimate thing though is Trevor himself. What a class act and what are musical genius he is. He still has a pretty cool voice considering his age.

Dollar - Cheesey as always but kind of entertaining to watch.

ABC - Martin looks older but still sound pretty good. I don't see Mark White but I believe one of the other original members was there. The guy that played bass behind Martin looks like Nick Beggs of Kaja but I haven't been able to confirm that.

Propaganda - The ladies look really old but still sound great. Claudia can still sing very well.

Art Of Noise - I really don't have any comments on this project. Never have, never will.

The Pet Shop Boys - My favorite band but not my two favorite songs by them. Still cool to watch though.

Seal - I'm not a big fan of Seal but whenever he performs Kiss From A Rose, you really can't help but go wow. Great voice, lucky to be married to Heidy Klum.

Tatu - I kind of liked these girls when they first came out but they kind of annoy me now. Too much of that fragile little girl thing here.

Belle & Sebastian - Yawn!!!

Grace Jones - Scary looking to me in the 80's and she hasn't changed much.

Frankie or should I say Frankieless - No Holly but the young kid that took his place did a good job with the vocals. Paul doesn't move as well as he used to but is still the cheerleader of the band.

One final comment is that it's great that they recognized Trevor and his accomplishments. It's really amazing to hear these songs again and pick out all of the Trevor influences.

Oops, forgot to review Yes. [:D]

They were ok I guess. I'm not a big fan except I do like Owner Of A Lonely Heart and they did a decent performance. I just wanted more Buggles!!!
