One Hit Wonders?

Postby Abercrombie-Ai » Thu Feb 02, 2006 1:22 am

If a band has a dozen or so hits in the UK or Europe, but only one in the U.S., are they or should they be considerd a "One Hit Wonder" band?

If a band has one hit in the US but more in Europe, it shouldn't be considered a one hit wonder band.
Many good bands have never had a top 10 single... and that doesn't make them less successful.

Everything was a hit in the Philippines. Haven't you heard?

Abercrombie, they'd be what I'd call a U.S. one hit wonder. You know, a Gary Numan.

Gary Numan was very popular here in the UK and still has his loyal army called Numanoids, but I never saw the appeal of him.

The only track in which I was interested was "Change Your Mind" and that was because Bill Sharpe of Shakatak wrote it.
