His cover of the old Gene Pitney hit The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance was pretty good.He had a real cockney British accent when he sang.But overall his music was very good.He reminded me a little of Ian Dury,his style,and the cockney accent.I have his Deep thought album which includes his cover of Liberty Valance on it.A very underated New Waver and a great one too.

I never even knew that John Otway covered I Am The Walrus.That is news to me,but thanks for the tipoff.I have only seen his Deep Thought album years back,and none of his other albums ever appeared anywhere.His albums must be very hard to find? Does he eve

Headbutts is a fantastic song as well as Green Green Grass Of Home. He was on Much Music back in the 80's for an interview and said something like watch Much Music or I'll give you a headbutt and then he hit himself in the head with a microphone. Too funn

I got turned on to John Otway via URGH! A Music War (like I got turned on to alot of bands!). His live version of "Cheryl's Going Home" from that movie is classic.

One of the very first CDs I ever scored off eBay was "Cor Baby, That's Really Me!" by John Otway. It's sort of a greatest hits comp. According to the Trouser Press guide, it was a bonus that came with a book of the same name, but I've never seen the boo
