He could find out a lot of info about the style of these bands if he looked at what trouser press and sites like amg said about the bands. The other thing is he could go to a file sharing site and download a song or two and find out if he likes them or no

Thats' what I do--I still thumb thru my old Trouser Press,look up bands on websites I 'm not familiar with,and occasoinally download an mp3. There are still tons of bands from back in the day I never listened to or just plain never heard of.

While I sometimes enjoy seeing "the whatever happened to" names of the old bands listed by newwavepopman, I think he needs a category all to himself since the amount of posts tends to push the other "General" posts down the list too fast. Maybe there sho

I like the fact that NWPM throws up a ton of bands looking for feedback on. While I'm not one to start too many threads myself, I am more than willing to give my opinion on bands that I like. If I see a thread about a band I don't care about I simply do

I think it is great that newwavepopman digs thru his vinyl vault and asks about these long forgotten bands, in many cases. Keep it up. Have you considered burning any of this vinyl to cd-rs?

Other than liking a band, I would buy a new wave record sight unseen if it was on the Virgin label, or if I was intrigued by the cover or packaging to the record (it's how I discovered The Sleeping Lions and Redbox).
