The Greatest Signature Starting Notes thread got me to thinking, which new wave type songs have the coolest basslines? The first two that spring to mind to me are "Peaches" by The Stanglers and Killing Joke's "Eighties."
Any others?
(P.S. Songs like The B-52s "Planet Claire" don't count since that is pretty much the exact same bassline Henry Mancini made up for the theme to "Peter Gunn.")

Almost anything by The Fixx, particularly "Red Skies," "Question" and "Saved By Zero."
Also "Colours Fly And Catherine Wheel" by Simple Minds, among many others by them.

DM - Get The Balance Right - it's a wonder that this song isn't more popular.
Nitzer Ebb - Join In The Chant - Can't help but move to this
APB - Shoot You Down - it's Just amazing, real bass, not synth
Duran Duran - Girls On Film - great technique with style combination
New Order - Mr. Disco - from Technique, give it a listen
There are so many more.
One of my favorite things to do - turn on a drum beat, crank up a synth and jam out to my favorite new wave bass lines.
