i did that at GCSE level then a-level before i dropped out of sixth frm college and then when i got into Uni a few years ago i took it as an elective before i had to quit due to lack of money...it was a case of study and either pay my rent or get evicted ... or quit Uni get a job and keep a roof over my head. i chose the latter...

tony blair said "education education education"...why are the fees for Uni going up again then?...twonk.

Haha. I didn't let that get to me. I still have trouble with some of those subjects. The one which I excelled at was organic chemistry, although I also liked inorganic and quantum stuff (did alright in both). Genetics was a probability nightmare (all you mathematicians out there... how I truly envy all of yous!). It's not too late to pursue other things, I figure, but I couldn't see myself as an artist of any kind[V]

What's good about Organic Chemistry, Genetics and those type of subjects is that they really defy your mind to reach a higher level. That's why I decided to study Biology and not my second option (take a guess: Sociology!!!). I knew that I could get away with murder and get all A marks in Sociology without having to study at all. So I chose the difficult path. [;)]
As for Maths, well.... we have a love-hate realtionship. I got an A+ last year though... but Advanced Mathematics (or Análisis Matemático) that I'm taking now... I way more difficult and has loads of theorical explanation. In UBA they believe that a scientist that doesn't master Math, is not a good scientist.

That pretty much applies to any school that places science and engineering above the rest of the subjects. I mean, I had to sit through crap like introductory linear algebra and differential equations - for WHAT?! Just because the school thinks it's fun and for kicks[8D] Besides, if you got some nasty integral on a test to work through, you just plug that shit into your TI-92 and it's, like... poof! MAAAAGIC[:D] If the profe doesn't give you the option of calculators, then most likely he/she'll give you the derivations and integrals that you'll need (i.e. there won't be any need to work through some silly integral that'll take one 20 minutes in a quantum physics or chemistry test).

And for the law nerds out there, don't even get me started on my love for writing law review articles . . . though I have yet to achieve the coveted goal of writing a page that is entirely footnotes with no actual text at all!

Aw, come on. Tall, skinny, nearsighted, socially awkward teenage guys who like science fiction are a dime a dozen. Females who are attracted to them are much rarer.

I was an engineering major which gets me lots of nerd points. The only way to beat that is to have camped out in costume for a Star Wars movie.
