Well, I worked for a record label and small artist management company in the 90's, so I obviously met a number of artists that way. No one that could be considered new wave, though.

I met most new wave people by chance in bars in New York, but also a lot because I'm a music journalist.

OH, someone else's post reminded me of this: two of the guys from Dramarama used to run a record store in New Jersey, so I hung out there all the time. What else could an underage kid do?

I hung out with the Dickies after a show at a club. My friend that I went with was freaked out about meeting them, but they were just down to earth people, and were really cool. I also met Richard Blade(probably not that unusual, in Southern California)

Hello[:D] I met Rick Ocacek from the Cars in Kennedy Airport back in the day. That man is TALL. I also met the members of Mission UK but I don't remember anything about it[:(]

Vicki Peterson and Michael Steele from the Bangles rode in the back seat of my 1977 Chevy Impala on the way to a radio interview during the "All Over the Place" tour. The interview went great -- Michael sang along with "Pulling Mussels (from the Shell)"
