Waitaminit! Olivia Newton John is embarassing?? Not to me. Give me "Xanadu" and "A Little More Love" and "Make A Move On Me" over anything by Eminem any day of the week (sigh...and I can just picture Olivia in those roller-skates from Xanadu..)

As a lifelong fan of 70s bubblegum and disco, I could give you list a mile long. Of course if I was actually ashamed of my taste in music, I probably wouldn't be driving around town with my windows down and "Wig Wam Bam" by the Sweet blasting from my car stereo!

"Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" by Rod Stewart has been my favorite song for over 20 years now, and like Surly, no matter how much cool stuff I have in my collection, you will never pry my Kajagoogoo CDs away from me. (Especially since I had to wait nearly 20 years for EMI UK to finally reissue their back catalog on CD!)

I know I may be alone on this, but I think the Bay City Rollers put out fantastic songs. Even many of the non-single tracks on their lps stand up. They were not all shmaltzy, overproduced affairs. They were good, hooky pop rock. They don't play unfavorably next to many of the power pop bands of our era.

And Shawn Cassidy's version of "That's Rock and Roll" isn't as bad as you'd think....

I'd be embarrassed to admit I listen to Shitney Spears, Coldplay, Hack Johnson, Blank 182, something utterly pathetic like that, but I can't think of anything I truly listen to that I'd be embarrassed to admit to. I listen to Italodisco, Schlager, Space Age Pop, Country, old school Hip Hop and Rap, Disco, etc. All that stuff was awesome then... and it's still sounds great now

Ever heard his "Wasp" album, produced by Todd Rundgren? He covers Bowie, Talking Heads .... it was actually quite good.

Hmm...everybody pretty much knows what my taste in music consists of, and I talk about the music I love a lot, and play it loud, so there's very few things I'd be embarassed to be seen listening to. Listening to "Thriller" alone is pretty pathetic, though, but that's something different. How could you be embarrassed of New Moon on Monday?

Hmm...I wouldn't be embarrassed blasting "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go"...can't think of anything at the moment.

I guess I can admit here that I really love the song "A Different Corner" from Wham.
I never bought it back when it was out because God forbid I had a Wham record! I really wish I had.
