Does anyone else occasionally play their entire MP3 collection, new wave and not, on Random Play? I'm always amused at some of the weird and varied songs that crop up next to eachother. So what happens if you go to your player right now and do this? What 5 songs play in order?? Try to be completely honest. It's not a contest to impress anybody - just a study in serendipitous juxtaposition.

Here's my 5 from tonight:

California by The Wedding Present - pop goodness from Otters
Decades by Joy Division - I kid you not [:I]
July Jones by The New Pornographers - not sure if I've ever listened to this before
Henehene Kou 'Aka by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole - aaah, like being back in the Islands
Conduct by The Durutti Column - a second Factory product amongst 14,000 songs, hmmm.

I do this all the time Blir. I prefer to listen randomly, that way I don't run songs into the ground. Thank god for iTunes, which can handle my 90 gigs without a hiccup.

Then a strange group of five or six Interpol and Franz Ferdinand songs in a row; funny how they cluster like that. I like to set it on shuffle too, though I had to take off the classical and opera because that was a little too schizo, plus I needed the room.

Amazing how some people get 2 or more of the same band in a row. My iTunes is on shuffle ALL DAY almost every day and that has never happened to me, not even once. Anyway, how's this for random:
