Did you guys used to "camp out" for concert ticket

Remember when a great group would come to town and everybody would spend the night in the parking lot of the record store where the tickets were sold? Swapping old concert tales with strangers, arguing over better drummers, singers etc.... drinking cheap 3.2 beer.
Ahhhh, good times. Today....hell no would I ever think about doing that again.

Yes, Depeche Mode "Some Great Reward" tour. Awesome memories. Everyone in line looked so New Wave. As I walked down the line, everyone is playing their little boom box. I remember hearing Visage, Soft Cell, Ultravox, and Depeche Mode.

Hah! Yeah I would camp out for concert tickets as well. I was first in line for New Order tickets and was really pissed off that I got 25th row in the balcony. I could not understand how I did not get floor seats. I later found out the guy that owned

I only camped for tickets twice. Once for Frankie Goes To Hollywood. Van Halen tickets were going on sale the next morning as well, so the ratio of people that hated me compared to those that liked me was about 4 to 1. The second time was for Prince ti

The only time I ever camped out for concert tickets was for The Who in early 1980. My friend and I were 15. Somehow my friend talked his parents into parking their station wagon at the record store where the tickets were going on sale. The station wag

I'd go on lines very early to get tickets and did pretty good for myself. I was within the first 10 rows for all these acts in a big concert hall: Psychedelic Furs, Culture Club, Gary Numan, Joan Jett, The Clash, B52s, Pat Benatar, etc.

Some friends and I got up really early one moring to get REM tickets (Green tour, I think). We're standing in line on Thayer Street in Providence when a garbage truck rumbles by.
"Who are you in line for?" asked the guy hanging off the back.

I grew-up in Arizona, so the weather was always right for camping. We did it constantly, for damn near every show. I had one friend who would toss an old couch in the back of his truck so he would have something comfortable to sleep on.
