I remember in the summer of 1990, around the release of "Flesh and Blood" by Poison, Martha showing off her replica "Flesh and Blood" tattoo that matched the album cover. She said it was permanent; I hope she was joking.

Are you kidding? His predecessor--Adam Curry--made Rachtman look like the bastard child of Lemmy Kilmister, Bruce Dickinson and Ozzy Osboure. Rachtman was no great shakes himself, but he brought an earnest cluelessness that worked great with the anger and contempt of the metal people he interviewed (i.e. Dave Mustaine.)

My parents never had cable, so I missed out, I used to watch UHFs channel 68 or something like that, they has a video show that showed cool things Like Bauhaus, it was snowstormish but I sat for hours and watched it

She was the host of some show on the Game Show channel for a while, and I've seen her once or twice on one of those 1970s-1980s-1990s VH-1 shows. (On one of those shows, she did an impression of that Scott Stapp (Sapp?) guy who sang for Creed and while I don't like her, it *CRACKED* me up).

Of the original 5 , I really didnt have a favorite. Maybe Martha or J.J. . Cant tell ya about after the original 5 since I lost interest in MTV about the time Julie Brown came around. They had a good thing going--to bad they destroyed it. Then MTV2 came about with the promise of it being like the original MTV. Any time I flip it on out of curiosity theres some crap called Gonna Git You Sucker on!! Ack!!!!!

Remember the old contests they used to have? The one that sticks out in my head was the Little Pink House contest.

Triple J all the way! Didn't he die? Shame if he did. And I recall he was the original host of 120 minutes. I remember how much fun he used to have saying the word "saxophonist" Dave Kendall was alright. My least favorite of the originals was Alan Hunter. Dude had no personality. The only interesting thing about him was that he was in David Bowie's "Fashion" video.

edit: I looked it up. Triple J died on St Patty's day 2 years ago of a heart attack. [:(]

Glad to see Kevin Seal was mentioned. He was an everyday guy who didn't have too much of an ego. Whatever happened to him? He seemed to disappear off the face of the earth.

I remember once watching the Top 20 video countdown(every Friday), and Mark Goodman was in a real bad mood. Almost funny to watch.

While Kennedy was annoying, she was pretty in that Lisa Loeb kidn of way.
