What do you miss *MOST* about the 80's?

I miss going out and watching beautiful young ladies with tall shoes and short skirts shake their stuff to amazing music while getting comfortably numb and trying to pick-up said young ladies.

I miss getting to the club (007) at 10:00 P.M. when the doors opened, drinking 3 or 4 Long Island Iced Teas (2 of which were free because we flirted with the bartender), dancing our butts off and talking to the DJ's and requesting our favorite songs and dancing till the doors closed at 4:00 A.M. and going to school the next day at 8:00 A.M. and never missing a beat and never feeling tired or hung over and being miraculously thin and having a following of guys who wanted to dance with us, and the little family of regulars we had at 007, who came every Tues, Thurs & Sun faithfully. OK now I want to go and cry in a corner because now I'm a single mom who never gets to go anywhere and all she has is to reminisce about the good old days when life was fun & free and exciting with the best music ever. Young people, enjoy your youth because in an instant it is gone forever.

007 Screamer Thursdays, Malibu Fridays & Saturdays were a must as well as weeknight outings to Camouflage & Paris NY.

Rush home from pulling a balls to the wall f/t shift at JFK round 10:30ish, throw on some clubbing attire, head out to cop a poor man's buzz in the club parking lot courtesy of a shared magnum of vino, brewskis or whatever alcohol was in the fridge at home, stroll through the doors round 11:30ish and order a couple of rounds of whatever drink specials and wait for that one kickin track to play that would send you out to the dance floor.

Drink water the rest of the night to stay hydrated while dancing maniacally non-stop til 3 or 4am, check out and hit a diner before crawling into bed at daybreak. Yep.. dem daze are looong ovah 4me too![V]

with a buddy and go on a mini road tour with a full head of hair.

I miss the new wave radio stations we had in Seattle - KYYX on FM and KJET on AM. Plus KCMU on the University of Washginton campus for the more obscure punk and wave (it is now KEXP; check it out on-line becuase they still occasionally mix in cool stuff like the Bunnymen and the Smiths with newer stuff). The new music just kept on coming, and drove me to the Tower Records or the used record store constantly to buy new wave records!
