Kemp Borthers on Eastenders

Postby pikeprof » Tue Sep 14, 2004 11:29 pm

never got around to mentioning it-but I've lately got addicted to the British soap East Enders-which features the Kemp Brothers of Spandau Ballet in big roles (interestingly enough the characters hate each other). Gary Kemp's Character-Grant Mitchell, is I guess, dead.

Martin Kemp plays a villain named Steve Owens who beat a murder rap. They're both very good actors-you'd never know they were brothers on the show.

They also starred together in the '80's film biogaphy of the Kray brothers - the London underworld/crime figures.

Gary Kemp has never played Grant Mitchell and as far as I know has never appeared in Eastenders. You have got your wrong Kemp's as Grant Mitchell was played by Ross Kemp (who is one crap actor). Martin Kemp however does (or did) play Steve Owens.

Wow... I've been an Eastenders fan all these years and never knew Steve Owens was played by a former Spandau Ballet bandmember! I think Tomb is probably right about the Grant Mitchell character though. When I checked, it didn't looks like him at all...

They're more than a year old. I was in England Sept of 2001 and saw a then-current episode. PBS in Mpls hasn't caught up yet.

And Kichanski from Red Dwarf was the singer for Altered Images.

Now we know how UK new wavers pay their rent.

One of the Kemp brothers was also in that vampire movie with Alyssa Milano ("Interlude with a Vampire", was that the title)? Not really a memorable movie, except for Alyssa's racier moments.
