Would You Think Me Dumb If...

Postby Frayo » Wed Jun 21, 2006 1:13 pm

I told you that I wanted this thing.

http://www.megaupload.com/drive/

Yes, I do.
I dont know why. I think after sorting through 600GBS of crap...most of which is probobly uploaded twice..I would find some painfully obscure and interesting thingamajig.

Maybe its cause Im still a teenager- but I think lots and lots of random ass files...is so freaking cool.

I have 400GBs of random crap....
I dont even know what it is anymore.
I havent deleted a file since I was about 8.

I have pleaded begged hidden and backed up everything.
EVERYTHING. The archive once consisted of 310 floppy disks..then eons of CD-Rs...until i bought a SLEU of external hard drives...and Im thinking to myself "Maybe...just maybe....I dont have enough shit on my computer".

BESIDES!!
Some crazy fool put some PAINFULLY rare 80s synth soundtrack songs on the site a while back....and I want them.....

No surprise to see this kind of thing being offered to the public..

I remember the days when data was stored on punch cards/tape, reel to reel, magnetic drums, disc packs etc..

Back in 1990 when I bought my first bona fide Windows PC (KLH Sage 386DX Full Tower) it had this HUMUNGOUS 120mb HDD.

Hee.. Hee.. it is to laugh at in retrospect.

I've long since maxxed out my 60GB internal on my HP lappy, so just prior to having it rebuilt, I bought a 250GB external HDD JUST FOR MY TUNES, PIX and VIDS.

I'm sure not too far down the road, I'll need to have dedicated externals (Terabyte drives no doubt) for each type of media, that is.. until consumer market data storage technology makes the switch to another medium (optical perhaps?)

IMO: You need only be self conscious about shelling out $400 to take someone elses mixed bag of stuff.

As for me, I'll stick to loading up my drive with all the quid pro quo my broadband can muster from over here![:p]

Yeap.... we do have almost the same amount of posts!!!

We should certainly save money (hahahah) but I'm saving all my money now for Patti Smith and YeahYeahYeahs in November... that means not going to La Portuaria's show in which David Bryne will play a couple of songs with them. [:(]

What kind of stupid was your girlfriend to leave you???
She was an ultra stupid.
Crap!!! I live really far from where you are. [:(]But if I lived any near, I'd be already jumping for my chance to date you. [;)]
