Thank God! ( new Law about Pedophiles)

They passed a law. It makes going over seas to have sex with minors against the law. It was not untill this law. Numbers of people have been arrested already. At least something is being done.

It's not enough. The creeps will just find ways around it by flying to someplace like Australia, THEN flying to Thailand or the Phillipines.

Hey Hut, pretend life is'nt perfect for a few minutes so you can see what Philly says is true: at least something is being done about it. Today. Tomorrow may see some improvement. Buildings are built brick by brick, no? [;)]

Some buildings take too long to build.

Yes, it's a start and I'm as glad as anyone about that part of it but knowing nothing about this law other than what has been posted here, I am inclined to agree with Hutter. They'll find ways around it. Can you imagine how much $$ it will cost to build and prosecute these cases? Will we have task forces deployed in places like Thailand specifically to enforce this law? If the law says it's illegal to go overseas to have sex with kids, how would we prove intent? Wouldn't it be possible to take a trip overseas and "accidentally" fuck a 10 yr. old? I'm afraid this law won't have enough teeth. Then there's my biggest objection ..... why the fuck aren't we protecting American children instead of those in other countries? We have a huge mess we should clean up here before go even start to worry about some third world shithole.

The problem is (and I know people this has happened to) that like murder and rape in general you are more likley to be sexually abused by a relative or somebody you know it's sad but true![:(!][:(]

Personally, Thank God for any law that intends to prosecute pedophiles. I don't see it as solely protecting foreign children. Honestly, a pedophile is going to molest at home and abroad. I see it as another way of catching them, and extending the reach. If you're going to Thailand to molest kids - chances are you've done it here too. Get the bastards any way you can. To me, that's protecting kids here.

I hope the travel agents and "clubs" that support and furnish these trips are also prosecuted.

How will it be done? Who knows, although it seems that there is a way to track this kind of activity.

Those third world "shitholes" are, like it or not, our responsibility once one of our citizens heads over there and exploits their people. The domestic laws need more teeth, and you should know, of all people here, that I have no problem with home-grown justice when it comes to those sick creeps.

Lois: "Glenn, could you watch my kids for a while?"
Quagmire: "Well, according to Megan's Law, I'm required to tell you that ... oh heck, sure, I'll watch the kids."

Sorry, a little Family Guy tension-breaker, had to be done. We now return you to your socio-political debate already in progress [:D]

Yawn. What the fuck ever. Any country that allows that kind of shit to go on IS a third world shithole. If stating the obvious and opposing child sex slavery makes me a racist ... cool, I'll run right out and join the nearest Klan chapter.

Like I've said before and will continue to say, I hope you feel better about yourself soon. Really.

Wow, and I thought you would at least apologize knowing there are people in here who are originally from the third-world countries (including Design Femme, who is in fact a Thai) who might have been offended by your blatant crudeness. My mistake for expecting that much from you.

You have NO RESPECT whatsoever for the people around you. I will not stoop to your level.

<p align="justify">As someone who was born and lived in a third-world shit-hole, I have seen what comes of dire/abject poverty and there are people without scruples out there who do sell/exploit their kids to sex tourists from the US and Western Europe. You know, it actually works better if the perpretator is caught in his home country because once he's dealing with third-world authorities - nothing will happen to them. Thailand is one of the few countries that has little to no restrictions on child pornography.

So you are racist too? No. Most of us understand that the points being stated here were not intended to be racist. They were saying something about poor countries and selling children. The fact is that it is done everywhere, but in third world countries, it is done much more freely and out in the open. If I say Thailand should be punished and made to stop their sex slave industry that is not being racist. Motors may have called third world countries shit holes, but in all honesty, countries selling their children for sex makes some people very mad. He never said people from country a, b, and c, are animals etc. I think their is a personal feud going on here and maybe it needs to be taken somewhere else or even better dropped. Trust me, watching the constant attacks on motors is getting played out. And calling someone a racist is going a bit far. Can we all just move on with our lives and act like adults here? I did not want to say anything, but this has been going on for a while. Lets please at least ignore each other.
THANK you on behalf of EVERYONE.

Philly, we both know what's going on between me and Motors- and... you know who. So yes, let's drop all this. I've had enough.

I do apologize: 1) for being too sensitive about my country being called a shithole (maybe I'm simply offended because I chose to be); and 2) for the "constant attacks on Motors"- Damn, I didn't realize I was constantly doing that![}:)] Did I really? - as in Really??? [:D][:D][:D]

Ok, I'm done!
