No surprises in the Top 5, especially number 1. The only shock is how well Alabama and Mississippi placed. [:D]

I'm surprised that Utah scored as high as #38, given our per-student funding for education. Oh well, we're still no. 1 where it counts . . . .

This is crazy. None of the hillbillies up there must have made it to the test. [;)]

And notice the strong inverse correlation Egg with VT. That would be Motors thinking too much with his big head rather than little head. Utah? Little head WAY over big head!

The fact that you're proud of THAT may have a lot to do with why you came in 38th. [V][:(]

Again, Vermont leads the way. [^]

Good job on the second link though. Now that's something to truly take pride in. GO UTAH! [:)]

Oh my gods! Calaforny is number fourty sevven! Whie we's so lowe?

That was a really interesting site, Motors. However, even more telling about the overall population of a state would be the site which egg-roger referenced; the left panel has some particularly informative statistics about health, immigration, and teen births, to name a few. Definitely worth a look-see.

All that maple syrup must be breeding a super race of country-crafters & leaf tour guides.

Motors, quit sending your stupid people to New York. We're full.

Exactly. Telling, but not at all surprising. Especially the correlation between a state's overall high intelligence and other factors such as low obesity rate, low immigration, low violent crime rate, etc.

LOL Wolv, actually there may be something to that. Ever been to some of the towns just across the border from us (Whitehall, Granville ...)? Scary places.

I'm not at all surprised that Nevada in the bottom. This place is filled with idiots.

I'm on the committee to help redesign Nevada's state motto. This is the best we could come up with:

If I was smarter I'd have a really good comeback, but, obviously, this desert heat leaves me with nothing what was I saying? Oh yeah, I think Canada finished a close 51st?????? Wait, Canada isn't a state.....I'm quite sure a lot of this has to do with us having The Arizona Cardinals....
