Beer, pot or cocaine

What was your vice of choice in the 80's. I liked pot because there was no hangover. Never tried coke because I was afraid I would like it too much and that would have been a problem.

Nowadays I keep to a beer or two every other month or so.

Lotta beer. Hard liquor on nights out. Pot on the weekends. Loved pot. I was a happy party smoker rather than a sleepy mellow one. Tried coke for bit there. Hated it. Made me too ornery. Then there were the occasional 'shroom trips, usually out to the beach, Joshua Tree, even Zion National Park or other trip-inducing locale, wow! Some very brief experimentations with acid, crystal, X, old-school smoked opium (weird dreams), natural peyote button once, probably others. But never anything injected...I wasn't some druggie! [:D]

But strangely, I never felt addicted to any of it. Never got the CRAVE. Even now, I'll throw down the drink heavily at a party or when out but never touch even a drop inbetween.

All of the above. I spent 99% of the 80's wasted. The only thing I was ever too scared shitless to try was heroin.

These days it's a different story. I haven't had a drop of alcohol in almost 14 years and the worst "drug" I do now is weed.

My drink of choice was a Long Island ice tea. I drank them like water.

It was way to easy to party here on Long Island in the 80's. There was a club opened every night of the week. And I was out every single night.

My drug of choice in the 80's was cocaine, tried but didn't care for pot and was to afraid to try anything else. As for alcohol, I was on the barstool next to Marie3 drinking Long Island Icetea's. Today I will have the occassional Dirty Martini,a glass or two of wine, or gin & tonic but never drugs.

I hated beer and really disliked pot back in my younger years. That of course leaves coke, which I really loved a lot. I hated anything that made me mellow or slow - I wanted to feel my heart bursting through my rib cage! I never did coke too often though.
I tried ecstasy & loved it, shrooms - loved them too, speed - really loved it. I tried meth once & suprisingly, really hated it. That was about the extent of my experience. I haven't gotten high in probably 20 years. (Unless you count that daily dose of sudfed to get my heart jumping until 2002.)

As for alcohol, vodka & kool-aide when I was poor, Skyy vodka & OJ when I had money. I drank a-l-o-t throughout the 80's & 90's...a real lot! The weird thing - I could put it down for a couple years & never think about it. I moved on to light beers ocassionally until about 4 years ago. I haven't had much of anything since - it doesn't interest me, doesn't taste good & I can't deal with the hangovers. Sometimes I think I'd like to get a buzz, then remember how the morning after feels.

Did it all, but my favorite was X. The hardest stuff I did was Acid.
Some nights it was miracle that I even got home and didn't die.
Try DJing on X sometime, its crazy what you come up with!
It was a great period in my life and I wouldn't change one thing!

Unfortunately, alcohol makes me gag (like drinking cough syrup), pot makes me more paranoid than I already am and I can't afford coke.

So, music is what takes me 'there'. Put a great song on and I'm in a different place...

Corny? Yes, but true.

I wish I could ingest something like pot, beer or coke, but the physical reaction is not worth it. I've got nothing against anyone who does (and find it fun to be around folks when they are...'gone').

Never took any drugs in my entire life... plan not to... I want to keep the neurons that I have (though they DO regenerate).
I do enjoy a good beer with my pizza or during a hot summer night. But I've been quite clean of alcohol for the last months. Got some cider or some champagne... but not that much.

I smoked a lot of thai sticks back in the day. Tried hash once- great buzz. Same for angel dust.

Never tried coke, heroin or lsd.

But there's always tomorrow.

Nowadays any more than two glasses of red wine or beer and I get a bit of a hangover headache.

Coke and booze in the early 80's bar scene. But when I got older (89-93)I changed to beer and pot. I LOVED WEED! And I never over did it. It was so much better than being drunk. I get REALLY funny when I smoke.

Long Island ice tea will kill you! EVERYONE has drank them to the point of blacking out. GREAT DRINK!

I was never much of a drinker. But I wouldn't change those crazy college/ dorm parties for anything ! Wine coolers and tequila (not together!), oh yeah and schnapps...so 80s! Have you noticed that they're not called "wine coolers" anymore; they are called "malted beverages" or something like that. I NEVER liked or drank beer.

No hard drugs, but have done lots of awesome shrooms, hash & weed. A little X; fantastic stuff that is, but I'm done with that. Opposite of what Wolvie said, I never liked anything that speeded me up; I prefer to slow down and mellow out. Ah, weed.

Forgotten a year of my life thanks to alchohol. That's enough for one lifetime. Never touched the herb or any other drugs.

In my late teens and early 20s I was very experimental. I loved pot, but only if I wanted to be laid back and trippy. It made me too paranoid to do anything functional, except eat [:o)]. For clubbing and to be the wittiest gal at the party, I loved coke. When we had no coke we substituted crystal, but I disliked speed (too chemical-ly). I hated downers, and it took me several tries to realize that I hated acid, too. I absolutely drew the line (no pun intended!) at heroin or anything else injected. Way too scary.

But I've never smoked cigarettes. Go figure. Having chain-smoking parents will do that.

Twenty years later about all I do is a few beers or glasses of wine now and then. And maybe a whiff of pot if it happens to waft by. I suppose in a few years I can start doing shots of Geritol.
