Most of us here are at an age (I'm 40) where we have plenty of serious concerns to occupy our energies - Earning a living, raising families, and all that goes along with that. My friends who were into New Wave back in the day have only a mild interest now. They've moved on to more mature concerns.
So why do we care so much about the music that we listened to when we were young?
Is it nostalgia for a time of innocence and wide open choices?
Do you just get pleasure from listening to New Wave more than any other kind of music (or heaven forbid - talk radio)?
Is it just an amusing diversion and you could have just as easily taken up coin collecting or building model sailboats instead?
I'm having a hard time answering the question for myself. I think it's a little of all of the above and varies a bit with time.
Maybe you're a teenager or twenty-something who just likes the music.
Why are you here?
