Excellent tunes-thanks a million guys ! I love the LP transfers also.Sounds so good listening to analog recordings thru my tube amp without the typical digital harshness.Boys Life is by far my favorite !

Another local band that I was not a huge fan of, but I own the vinyl to, was O Positive. I'm not even sure why I own this but I do. From the Only Breathing EP , From 1985--Up Up Up.

The Backbeats were a 4 man band out of--I believe--Mansfield Mass--I could be wrong. They had a single that Iwas not overly thrilled with--The Hunger--this tune here was the flip side--Turn Toward The Summer--from 1986.

O Positive were positively awful. But they were huge in Boston. ("With You" was on BCN every 10 minutes in 1985.) I could never figure that one out. Their major label album was pathetic.

Like I said--never was a fan of theirs. Did they win some rock hunt to get their recording contract? I don't remember. Up Up Up is the only song on their EP I can tolerate. It has With You if you would like to hear it again.[:o)]

Not that I know of -- and I know they didn't get far in the WBCN Rumble. (Granted, neither did New Man, who were the "it" band that year -- and [i]they[/i] had talent.) They got knocked out by Down Avenue (who weren't any good, either, but I digress), and I seem to recall their scores being fairly crappy.

As Chuck Warner will tell you, that EP was Throbbing Lobster's top-selling record... and they were its least-gracious act.

No shit. I could never figure that one out either. I was not a fan at all, but they certainly were popular. The papers, djs & music critics always pissed me off with all the fawning devotion.

Just goes to show you it's all a matter of taste. In upstate New York O Positive was well liked and played a great deal on our college station. Their EP and later release all made it to CD and to this day, I enjoy their sound, as do numerous friends of mine. Though certainly as with any music, to each their own....

Blind Dates, now there is a band I wish had more songs, beyond at least the two 45's I own. Always liked their sound.
