Your LEAST Favorite Decade of Music

Each decade had its lows and although I voted 90,s after reading the rest of the posts here I should have voted 2000,s.I realized most of the bigger releases I purchased lately are from bands that have been around for years like The Stooges,N.Y Dolls,Rush,Jarvis Cocker,N.I.N TurboNegro etc.The only music I like from this decade so far is stoner rock.

I dont see why anyone would choose 2000 over 1990 as the worst decade for music. Basically the grunge scene destroyed what was left of new wave music on alternative stations. Back in the 80s, at least the butt rock music was only broadcasted in heavy metal and hard rock stations while the alternative stations were left alone with new wave acts. Something happened during the 90s that put the nail in the coffin for metal bands and the metal stations went off the air but during that stage those hybrid metal bands moved towards alternative station where butt rockers Korn [xx(] shared airplay with the likes of Depeche Mode.Slowly and slowy the bands that have new wave roots or inspired by them started to fade out from the radio play list and pretty much all gone in the late 90s. At least in 2000, we did see alot of new wave revival bands like Franz Ferdinand, Arcade Fire, Interpol and the like crop up and put alot of new interest in post punk new wave bands

Well , it looks like the worst decade for music is the 2000's (39%) followed by the 1990's (36%). A combined 75% (3 out of 4 members)think music turned for the worse after the 1980's.

I went with the 2000s. The birth of the mega corporate music machine that pumped out generic stars one after the other. The 80's rocked! Every week we would hear new cool songs. Now we are lucky to hear one a year.

wow im suprised how many people picked the 50s.i love the golden era.feel good upbeat basic rock its awsome.

for me its hard to choose between the 90s and 2000s because since like 90 tillnow its all seemed the same to me, just bad.nothing has interested me.
i mean there have been the handfull of songs i liked through 90 till now, but there isnt much and there arent really any bands or albums that get me just an occasional song.
but i went with 90s because i can never forgive the 90s for what they did to everything underground.underground comics,independent film,alternative music.all brought to the forfront and mainstream and now everything is the same to me.
what was truly alternative music in 1994? poison.
