MFAB, you seem to go to great lengths to maintain your anonymity, considering that there is nothing but the barest of information in your profile. Again, you eschew the topic of the other board(s) that you moderate. I don't expect you to name them, but I feel like you have an ulterior motive here which doesn't involve discussing music insomuch as countering others' intolerant and presumed bad behavior. And there's the concern about your IP address closely matching some former banned members.

Mature adults or not, this is a board dedicated to new wave, classic punk, power pop etc. There are always going to be juvenile jabs and off color remarks, particularly in this area of the board, but to act indignant as if you just stumbled in expecting this to be something on par with a molecular biology board is just naive in itself.[|)]

I don't see what the problem is with comparing Celine to a horse anyway. Horses are beautiful animals and if you were to fuck one of them instead of ... say a sheep ... you also have the added benefit of always having a ride home.

Minty, as I’ve come to expect in my short time here, yours is the voice of both reason and intellect. Perhaps on reflection I did overstep my bounds in my attempt to ask that adults behave as such. However, the implication that I do not understand social group dynamics and whatnot is merely an attempt to avoid accepting responsibility for some very childish behavior; I know it, you know it and perhaps most tragically, they know it.

My error in this charade was losing sight of the fact that the internet is often a consequence free environment. As a person with a full life in the real world, I often overlook this aspect of online interaction, so I will take responsibility and apologize for this oversight on my part. Thank you to all who’ve taken the time to e-mail me with their thoughts and support, as well as those of you online who saw things the way I did.

Again, I feel the need to ask you to re-read the contents of the e-mail I sent you. In it you will see the following facts:

1. I acted as moderator for a board a few years ago.
2. The board was short lived due to some unforeseen financial problems on the part of the site’s owner.
3. Since that time, I HAVE NOT acted as a moderator for any site. You’ve misrepresented this point in your past 2 posts by suggesting I’m not forthcoming with this information.

Yes, I have a shielded IP. A couple of years ago I had some fraudulent use of my ID and since that time I’ve felt it necessary to take every precaution to protect that information. I also explained my e-mail address, and why it was disposable. I also gave you my true e-mail address as a show of good faith. If these things make me appear to be a troll, so be it. My personal information is more important to me than baring my soul for all to see. Lack of information in one’s profile is rampant on your board, so I can’t see where my lack of profile information causes you undue concern. Would you rather I fill it with fictitious information?

Enough, let’s move on. Now that I better understand the ‘ground rules’, I’m sure I can add to the complexion of the board.
