I have to say that "Too Pieces" and "In My Room" were perfomed very well, and are my two most fave songs on the first album, besides the singles...

afaik , the only yaz(oo) songs that they didn't play @ any of the recent concerts so far were these :
"happy people" ( because vince didn't want to sing it )
"the other side of love" ( the only single that wasn't on any album & which is somehow disliked by both alison & vince these days )
"softly over" & "and on" ( for what reasons soever - from the "you and me both" album )
btw : did they play "walk away from love" also in the states , as it was the only song that was added to the tour later on !?

Yes they did play WAFL. It was. to my ears, the most "altered" of all the songs (and not for better).

2 Yaz shows down. 3 to go. Had considered dumping my tix for Wed at T5 and just going to Thur and Sat at Beacon, but no way now.
Despite the same setlist, last night was amazing. My seats were a bit further back (12th row) than Thurs (5th row), but I think the crowd was slightly more crazy last night, if that's possible. Girl behind me openly weeping when they took the stage. She was hoping it wasn't all "pop" and she'd get Winter Kills, In My Room, Ode to Boy, etc. She was so not disappointed.
I seriously hope the NY crowd is as enthusiastic, but anyone who's seen any reunion shows in NY knows it can be filled with industry douches there to say they were there but hang by the bar. I'd love for NY to surprise me and be just as insane as the LA crowd. Seriously, both nights the crowd was singing along *every lyric* to Midnight far louder than Alison. She was so cute and genuinely enthusiastic about being there on stage.
Highlights: Too Pieces, In My Room (so amazing! Though it would have been a bit better with the 'Our Father' spoken over it), I Before E (brilliant! And even some traces of drum and bass added to it). Actually there were virtually no low points!
I'd stayed spoiler free for the first time in a long time to the setlist and was happy. Though as glokstadt and schwenko pointed out, there's not the hugest catalog to pull from, so you're going to get virtually all of it. And we did.
A friend of mine from depeche-mode.com texted me that he got a pic with Alf and Vince. Jealous, but still being on NY time sort of, I wouldn't have made it much longer than I did.
How could something so stark and cold be so warm and so spiritual? Sort of what made Yaz great all along... Brilliant!

Oh,and by far, the coolest thing I have ever seen at a show ever - on Friday in one of the opera boxes, a personal sign language translator translating the entire show to the people in those seats! She had a music stand and the sheet music/lyrics. Who arranged this - the ticket buyers, the venue, Yaz? Can't say. But I'm amazed it happened! And flawlessly. (Seemed so anyway.) Never seen anything like that at a show.

I was thinking it was a b-side on one of my Yazoo 12" singles, I can see the cover in my head, it's black and Yazoo ans text are in red...
According to Discogs, Ode to Boy II is a single released by Alison Moyet in 1994, just her solo career: http://www.discogs.com/release/945660
See my foggy Alzheimer's is at it again... I'd have to dig for the 12" to double-check, I did not find anything on Discogs, so it's recirded By Alison only as a follow up to Yazoo's "Ode to Boy" song. Sorry for the confusion. +G
