Scenes From A Class Struggle

Heh, you gotta love Radar magazine. Seemingly innocuous actions that have led to student suspensions at American schools.

Sheridan Middle School, New Haven, CT
Action: Student buys a bag of Skittles from a classmate.
Ruling: Violated an anticandy "wellness policy."

Dennis Township Primary School, Cape May Court House, NJ
Action: Seven year old draws a stick figure holding a gun.
Ruling: Violated a "zero-tolerance policy" on firearms.

Central High School, Providence, RI
Action: Sophomore snaps a photo of the principal smoking and posts them online.
Ruling: "Disrupted the learning environment."

La Vega Primary School, Waco, TX
Action: Pre-K student hugs female teacher's aide, inadvertently burying his face in her chest.
Ruling: Indulged in "inappropriate behavior interpreted as sexual contact."

Peachtree Ridge High School, Suwanee, GA
Action: Student sings popular "On Top of Old Smoky" spoof containing the words "I shot my poor teacher."
Ruling: "Threatening" an instructor.

Killian Middle School, Lewisville, TX
Action: Student rubs hands with sanitizer, then smells them.
Ruling: Openly flouted anti-drug rules.

Not only American schools. I received a phone call from the school when my son was Pre-K because he had hugged one of the girls in his class. A "warning" call. WTF? The kid's 4 years old.

Next thing you know we'll be cited for sexual contact for coming out of a vagina at birth. Or, male babies will be cited for inappropriate contact for breast feeding.

Or..........when a dog decides to hump our leg, we'll get nailed for reverse bestiality
