Careful with some of those leaked tracks! There was a "version" of In Chains all over youtube which was actually a song called Why Do You Do? by a Scottish band called Analog Angel:

Really? Sheesh, what's the world coming to when you can't even get an authentic leaked track [:o)]

Hurry up and check these leaked tracks out. YouTube is taking them down left and right. There were a bunch more last night.

Nice, thick, vintage analog synths. Delving even deeper into soulful territory too. I'm easily struck by how mature their sound has become. And I think the Gahan tracks, Hole to Feed and Come Back, are among some of the band's best work. I haven't been this excited about a DM record since Songs of Faith and Devotion.

I've been trying to get into this new album for a couple weeks and it just doesn't do anything for me at all...

It's strange, but I'm getting all kinds of leaked tracks through the YouTube app on my iPhone yet the same pages don't work when I access them on my computer. Weird.

I've read quite a few comments where people think it's their worst album.

Agreed, my least favorite DM record by far. I can't really tell where they were going with it. The music itself is awsome for the most part, but none of the hooks and melodies that made them Depeche Mode are there. As a long time fan, but also a fan of new music I just don't get what they are trying to do. It seems that Dave is vocally going for this blues/rock thing while the rest of the band goes in an electronic direction that just isn't meshing. Maybe next time.

In the 80's, I would be standing in front of the record store waiting for the new DM album to come out and buy it on the spot. "Ultra" was good and "Playing The Angel" has a few highlights but I just can't get into many of DM's new songs. I really hope I like this new album but the from the reviews that I've seen, I can't make heads or tails whether this album is good or bad. [8]

Amazon has the whole album for $3.99 as an mp3 download, for those who are curious about the new Depeche but are unwilling to pay for the CD.
