Caprica?

Did any BSG fans catch the pilot? Or even the unrated (and very racy) DVD version of the pilot? Two things I noticed:

1. The music in the virtual club that I suppose was meant to represent something dark and futuristic was White Rose Movement's "Alsatian" from their 2006 album Kick:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/SFb6lUv1Zng&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/SFb6lUv1Zng&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

2. The glasses the Defense Minister was wearing were identical to those of Eldon Tyrell from Blade Runner. They're strange enough and the close-ups were intentional enough that this wasn't by accident. In fact, if you google "tyrell glasses caprica", you get a bunch of hits. Yes, I got a kick out of this, being the geek that I am. [:I]

It was okay -- not great, but not bad. It was cool to get an insight of the origins of the cylons.

The episode worked as a movie, but I don't know how it will stand up in a series, especially given the writers' reputations on BSG (and I thought the BSG mini-series was outstanding).

No surprise about the glasses. It's no secret that the producers are in awe of Blade Runner, and are using the ideas from that movie and expanding on it. They seem to be starting in on liberating from Tron, as well.

Yeah, but those shots are so easy to edit out. I think they'll show the pilot on TV ... next year, or whatever the series is supposed to start.
