I try not to overuse it on this site, to avoid "Top 40" rotation, if ya know what I mean....it would be "Super Hit #1" in some many cases

I'm confused. If we're all dullards who only know what we saw on MTV, shouldn't we know who Toyah is considering -- as "toyah" has thoughtfully pointed out to us over and over again -- that her band had 2 videos ON MTV?

I guess that settles it then. Toyah is so forgettable, even with MTV rotation, we dullards STILL don't know who she is.

I've spent a while watching the collection of Toyah videos available on Youtube. First, let me say, I'll need therapy: a lot of therapy. Secondly, every song sucks, WTF!!! She can't dance, although she can squirm like a worm on a hook. Her singing is finger nails on a chalkboard irritating, and the songs seem totally devoid of any sign of a hook, except of course the one Toyah is squirming on.

This one is excruciatingly bad.

I always thought Rockwood was the least talented artist to be promoted on this board, but I'm having serious second thoughts about that.

as we can see, 'It's A Mystery" was #2 on "Top Of The Pops" in the week of your screen capture from the UK;
and it wasn't payola, cos the indie Safari label obviously wasn't rolling in the big bucks(although the sucess of this single and the platinum UK Anthem album put some change in the purse);
somebody liked it, and on her home turf, many people still do, and so do I...
and if you're so 'up' on people you know from radio and the top of the charts, shouldn't you be on a message board for Madonna or Michael Jackson?

I don't have my glasses on, but, I'm pretty sure the "2" is from "Top of the Pops 2"[;)]

The last two Toyah videos posted make Elaine from Seinfeld look like Nureyev. So maybe you can't afford a pro choreographer but how about trying it out by yourself in a mirror first.

Toyah is like Samantha Fox without all the talent. It's a mystery indeed.

I amazed so many people here dislike Toyah. Tracks like "Bird In Flight", "Brave New World", "Dawn Chorus", "The Vow", to name just a few, are so moving.
Oh well, to each his own. Guess I'm not sitting with the cool kids in the lunchroom.

Too bad that licensing fee thing never happened. You would think a cash strapped label like Safari would jump at that chance. If only it were true...I mean, if only it came to be.

Really? Says a lot about how discerning your musical taste is.

You're on the defensive...understandable, quite understandable.
