Ah yes, Robert Palmer...he was in that sort of New Wave no mans land, lol.
He wore nice suits, that's a plus. Also, the bassline to "Johnny And Mary" (one of my favorites) has an arpeggiated synth bassline which is a New Wave hallmark.
