"Jack FM" Radio kicks off in LA with "Whip It'!

JACK-FM is AWFUL! Unfortunately, we lost our "classic alternative" station KRQI to JACK-FM here in Seattle. It is hideously bad! It takes the most burned-out Top-40 New Wave and plays them with '70s disco and '80s/'90s pop. It takes the flaws from Music C

Same thing just happened here in St. Louis, [b]KYYX[/b]. Its a station called "the arch". Thier motto is "70's, 80's, whatever we want", which of course is a crock. They are on 106.5, which was a smooth jazz format previosly, and for the first 2-3 weeks t

It still sucks.

The announcer voice is "we'll play what WE want to play". Yeah, great for the listeners, huh? The announcer voice is very frickin' snobby.

Sorry to hear about KJQ. They were one of the best "classic alternative" dials around.

I really hate that "We play what we want" slogan on JACK-FM. My response is: "Good. Let me turn off the radio, and I'll play what I want."

I don't like it, but then again I don't like any commercial radio. However, while waiting for "Nina Blackwood's New Wave Nation" (not knowing it was dropped when the station swithed to "The Jack") I heard the greatest commercial bumper ever produced.
