Not much into talk radio--but occasionally it gives you some insight to the brains of the nutball right wingers!!!
LOL! An they can't manage get through a 3 hour show without mentioning Bill Clinton! Laura Ingrham is one of the worst, her obsession with the Clinton's is comical. For entertainment I prefer to listen to Michael Savage, a lunatic (but at least he attacks his own on occasion). Larry Elder out of LA is OK (he's pretty conservative, but at least he's a Libertarian).
BTW: Laura Ingrham is the voice of CVS Radio, the in-store "radio" they play at CVS drugstores.

Michael Savage attacks the Bush administration with more ferocity than the Air America jocks. No one on the Left chooses to believe that but it's true. His tirades against "the moron" are hysterical. He hates Bush for different reasons of course.

With the exception of Penn Jillette and Jake And Jackie on Free FM and the entire on-air staff of WFAN, I gave up on talk radio a while back.

Even "Coast To Coast" is getting boring.

Unfortunately, AM talk radio gems are few & far between. Phil Hendrie is rarely heard in these parts, neither is Rollye James, who, despite her disregard for most music after 1970, is actually quite astute.

I won't get into discussing Glen Beck-please, God, no!

For a rather odd listening experience, try to find Roy Masters.[;)]

Thanks for your suggestions, guys. I appreciate it. (Esp. 2Nu).
Yeah, I only listen to AM talk radio late at night, as I'm getting ready for bed, shutting down the house, and then for a little bit as I lay in bed falling aleep. The AM hum and static helps me fall asleep. Totally Weird, I know. But I do like the political talk. And like I said, the conservatives can be really educational listen to, as long as they don't club you over the head with it.

I'm not a fan of most of the folks on Air America or WABC but it was nice to have some big guns on both sides of the political spectrum to switch back and forth from during the day (at least until football season starts..then it's WFAN all the way!)

This from this mornings RBR-Radio Business Report:

Randy gets a New York stick
Former Clear Channel Radio CEO Randy Michaels is set to return to operating a major market radio station. RBR has learned that Michaels will take over programming of WLIB-AM New York when Air America Radio's current LMA expires August 31st. The station will continue to have a Progressive Talk format, but Michaels will replace Air America's network programming with a series of new local talk shows with a liberal bent. Michael's deal with licensee Inner City Broadcasting won't be an LMA, but rather a joint venture.

Have a take and don't suck or you will be run!

I'm listening to Jim Rome as I type. He's got Tommy Stinson of the Replacements on, pimpin a new Mats release "Don't You Know Who I Think I Was?". He's playing the first new Mats song in 16 years. Not bad!

Is The Mats song actually out yet?
Believe it or not, there is a bastion of eurudite liberal and progressive talk radio on the AM dial (and the web) despite the right wingers constant trumpeting of its impending demise since its inception two years ago... (yeah.. sure, Dream On)

Air America Radio 1190 WLIB here in NY, also streaming on the web HERE.
For the past year and a half I've been a faithful listener to the following hosts:

My hands down favorite is Thom Hartmann

Followed by :

Majority Report with Sam Seider and Janeane Garafalo

Rachel Maddow

The Randi Rhodes Show

Mike Malloy

The others run the gamut ranging from overly wishy washy (Al Franken) to undeservingly labeled and pidgeon holed (Springer)

Too bad Air America is hemorrhaging money. Without Soros they would be long gone.

Michael Savage, now THAT'S entertaining political talk radio. :D
