Well its nice to know i am not alone in this disease.. lol...I have several good freinds who are music freaks and its why we are freinds. Bothdownload more stuff than they will ever listen to and i try not to do that but its very easy to do, but i can't stand not listening to this stuff if its on my computer. I used to have a freind that would buy tons of lps and not know the newest single was on that lp because he never made it side 2!! I used to get aggrivaged by that lol
I have had this same conversation about how "these kids today" will probably never have a core of favorite albums they listened to from start to finish over and over. For them its a never ending download of song to song moving on to the next song and never getting an album of songs by one group and playing it over and over til you can afford another album etc. I feel sorry they missed out on the excitement of an album cover and the bringing it home to listen to and like and enjoy for days on end.
I still buy and i still collect, though i have gone thru it twice over the years and got rid of alot of stuff, they are still cds i will never part with it. I had to get rid of things I had but never listened to or even cared about again.
I buy remastered 80's cds mostly of older stuff, rarely of anything new but i do for Royksopp, Ivy, Air, Kings of Convenienc whoever gets me to listen these days, Otherwise i download new groups and like some of their new stuff. I am very synthesizer oriented and that is my favorite stuff to buy. I am always searching for new electronic groups that will get me excited and older 80's things i missed.
I am able to listen in my car and work with my ipod in my ear so i do listen to alot. And i love going to the gym for a couple of hours and enjoying stuff on my ipod. I look forward to that during the day "because its 2 hours of nothing but listening to music. Work usually interupts" my listening with phone calls and managing people.
I cant imagine not listening or searching for the next exciting thing i havent heard yet online.I live for this like all of you i am sure and its who you are and in your blood. It's great to know you are all kindred souls
I do listen to alot but having such a large music collection the ipod has at least put it on in one place whether i can listen to it all or not is irrelevant. Its on my ipod and i use shuffle alot:)
